This explains what information Pet Match collects, why, and what control you have over it.

What we collect

• Account info: name, username, email, age, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
• Profile info you choose to add: bio, location, interests, hobbies, and profile photo.
• Pet listings: details and media you upload about pets.
• Activity: favorites, expressed interest, and messages, so the app can function.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your session. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.

How your information is shared

Your username and public profile details are visible to other users. Whether your real name and email are visible is controlled by you in your profile settings — off by default. We never sell your data to third parties.

Your controls

• Edit or hide your real name and email from your public profile at any time.
• Delete your data from your account security page — this removes your profile info, pet listings, favorites, and interests, and signs you out. Your login credentials remain so you can sign back in with an empty account.
• Request full account and login removal by contacting us directly.

Security

We use industry-standard authentication and encrypted connections. You can add extra protection to your account with two-step verification in your security settings.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll let you know before the changes take effect.
